Retic Privacy Policy

At Retic (“we”, “us”, “our”, or the “Service”), we value your privacy and comply with relevant personal data protection laws. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following personal information to provide our services:

  • Account Credentials: Email address, password, sign-up origin.
  • Service Usage Data: Goals, sub-goals, tasks, habits, streak logs, device type, IP address, and browser log data.
  • Payment Information (paid subscribers only): Payment records and a payment processor customer identifier. We do not collect or store card numbers or other payment instrument details ourselves; these are handled by our payment processor.
  • Collection Method: Direct input from users during sign-up, automated tracking during service utilization, and payment result data received from our payment processor for paid transactions.

2. Use of Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Service Delivery: Identifying users, password reset, and synchronizing goal/habit data across user devices.
  • Service Improvements: Resolving crashes, analyzing feature usage, and improving interface flows.
  • Support & Communication: Responding to customer inquiries and delivering important service updates.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We may use cookies and similar storage technologies (such as local storage) to analyze service usage statistics and measure advertising performance.

  • Purpose: Google Ads conversion tracking (e.g., measuring waitlist sign-ups) and visit/usage analytics (Google Analytics) to improve the Service.
  • Consent-Based Activation: Non-essential tracking scripts, such as advertising conversion tracking and analytics, are only activated after you provide consent via the cookie consent banner shown on the Service (website or web application).
  • Withdrawing Consent: You can withdraw or change your consent at any time using the “Cookie Settings” button shown on screen, or by clearing the related stored data through your browser’s cookie/site data settings.

4. Data Retention and Erasure

We retain your personal information as long as your account is active. Once you request deletion (account termination) or the purpose of collection is achieved, we will delete your data without delay, except where retention is required by applicable law.

  • Payment and Consumer Dispute Records: Under applicable e-commerce and consumer protection laws, records related to payment transactions and consumer complaint handling are retained separately for 3 to 5 years after account termination.

5. Payment Processing & Third-Party Disclosure

To process payments, we engage Paddle as our payment processor and merchant of record. We disclose limited account information — your email address, payment records, and payment processor customer identifier — to Paddle solely for the purpose of securely processing transactions. Paddle uses this information only within the scope of the services it provides to us and handles it in accordance with applicable law.

6. Rights of Users

You have the right to access, modify, or delete your personal information at any time. You can request deletion or changes by contacting us via email at team@retic.io.

7. Security Measures

We use standard technical safeguards, including SSL/TLS encryption for database communication and secure authentication tokens, to protect user accounts and synchronization data.

8. Your Rights Under the GDPR (EEA / UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) grants you the following rights:

  • Legal Bases for Processing: We process your personal data on the basis of (a) performance of our contract with you (providing the Service), (b) your consent where applicable, and (c) our legitimate interests in improving and securing the Service.
  • Your Rights: You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, as well as the right to data portability and the right to withdraw consent at any time.
  • International Transfers: Where your data is transferred outside the EEA/UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
  • Right to Lodge a Complaint: You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at team@retic.io.
